    Review of Loseit! for iPhone

It is well documented by the medical community that many countries have an obese population with the United States leading the way.  As one who was formerly obese, I can first-hand say it is easy to fall into the trap of overeating or eating the wrong things.  Beginning in May 2009 I began an effort to lose weight and I’m happy to say it has been successful.  I’m now 60 pounds lighter than I was before, feel better than I have in years and dare I say, look pretty darn good! :-)

Part of my success in losing the weight and keeping it off was through an application I found early in my iPhone experience.  The application is Lose it! from FitNow and it is available for free in the iTunes App Store.  Lose it! allows you to track your caloric intake each day through a large database of nutrition information that is built into it.  What is better though is that Lose it! allows you to enter in customized food items from your pantry or online research of restaurant nutrition data so you can keep track of everything accurately.  Lose it! even takes into consideration your calorie burn from exercise.  Plus, because it is on your iPhone, it is always with you so there is never a need to go back to your PC or Macbook to enter information – or forget to do so.  Lose it! is one of the best apps I have found for the iPhone and if you are serious about keeping track of your diet it should be one you stop reading this review right now, go download it Lose It!, and come back.  I’ll wait….

Part of my exercise routine is walking – usually 3 to 5 miles per day.  Helping me keep track of my distance, calories burned and steps is a great application named iTreadmill.  This pedometer application uses your iPhone’s accelerometer to automatically keep track of your steps while using its GPS to keep track of your distance.  It is the best pedometer I have found for any platform – Windows Phone, iPhone or Android – and is today’s Pick of The Day.
