This is a massive news break! Twitter has acquired Atebits, the company that makes the very popular Twitter application Tweetie for iPhone. In the deal, outlined on the Twitter blog, Tweetie will be renamed Twitter for iPhone and will be made free (versus the $2.99 Tweetie 2 is today in the iTunes App Store).
